The Biggest Innovative Video Challenge - IET Bhaddal

Dear IETians,

This challenge is looking for a marketing and Training video aimed at the efficient functionality of ietBugs.com and a virtual tour of the prestige Institute so called Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bhaddal.

Video should be uploaded to Youtube.com Channel
Challenge Deadline is 8th Dec 2008

The proposed video should promote, in a persuasive, innovative and fun way, the benefits of joining and being active on ietBugs.com, and should help beginners to rapidly familiarize with ietBugs community and begin sharing their knowledge and experience right away. It is very important that the video should encourage both membership and active engagement.

The video should be clever, inventive, and should stand-out from the clutter of competing messages. It also should be suitable for commercial use. At the same time, it can be informal and humorous and employ a variety of imaginative approaches.

The list of positive themes would likely include, but are not limited to, the following:

1) How to best get started with the community: register, browse, read, consume, etc.

2) How to post Jobs, work in the forums, use Chirkut, videos, or e-learning.

3) What you love about the community and how it benefits you personally and your institute

4) What you love/enjoy about IET, Bhaddal and ietBugs.com collaboration

5) Pictures, videos or other materials that you have created by being involved in the community.

6) The intellectual pleasure of working on important problems and helping others.

7) The pride and other feelings of being part of a global IET Bhaddal's only community.

8) The opportunity to help solve problems of others.

9) The learning, professional growth, career advancement, and related career benefits.

10) The satisfaction of reaping membership awards like the Belt system, Top Poster and contributing to the Blood Donation campaign, Food Program, receiving recognition (formal and informal,) etc.

11) The convenience of working your craft and being involved globally.

12) The use of ietBugs.com in your daily work to be more productive, learn, and develop.

Extensive screenshots of ietBugs.com and IET Bhaddal official website are strongly discouraged. In part, this is due to the constantly changing nature of the ietBugs community Design, which would rapidly make the videos outdated or even obsolete.

The proposed videos should meet the following technical specifications:

The length of the video should be between 3 to 5 minutes.

The videos should ideally use English language, although non-English content may be included.

The videos should be delivered as a digital video using .mpeg, .wmv, or .mov format.

The videos must only employ elements that their authors have either ownership of or can prove as being in the public domain.

Hello Members and all our guests,

This is to inform you that ietBugs.com is soon going to start a new module called "Prank Calls" for all the members and has recently circulated an SMS/Audio prank call for trial purposes (09371272497) and is currently fooling hundreds of people around.

This is the first entry for ietBugs.com Buggy Brains Buggy Ideas contest.

We want to apologies in the first place, the only objective of this call is to test our new application and bring a new series of such applications, like birthday wishes, happy anniversary, and many more.

Also we wish that all our members treat it as a part of humor and not offensive. Buggy Brains - Buggy Ideas

Hello IETians,

ietBugs community has taken an initiative to start a new thread where all the students or faculty members can share their new project ideas, solutions to business problems and come up with new innovative products. This is an opportunity to showcase your buggy brain and ideas with other community members.

Have you ever imagined a solution to a potential problem, or have you ever even thought of developing a new software which has never been developed before. We have students from almost all backgrounds, electrical, electronic, mechanical, IT then why not we integrate our ideas and develop something big. I personally think our students have that potential to do some thing big, they only need motivation.

So dear IETians, Are you Buggy enough to come up with Buggy Ideas which can be further shapes into read world solutions. If your answer is yes, let's make a difference now.

Submit your ideas/projects and ietBugs will show them to the world. The best part is, you can seek suggestions and improvements from greatest of great people all around here and make your idea practical and better to implement. IET Bhaddal has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Murdoch University,Perth,Australia,according to which students who have successfully completed two years of a 4-year B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering , Electronics &Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering will be eligible for pursuing 3rd year at Murdoch University after successful completion of the course.

The Institute has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wayne State University ,Detroit,Michigan,USA.

Dear IETians,

I remember, Some time back we came to this place called IET Bhaddal, We made many friends, We enjoyed our time, Cried on each other's shoulders, when we were about to leave after graduating.

Most of us are now working in different companies, many of us now settled in Foreign lands, many of us are already on our ways to success, I am happy about you all. All fellow IETians are special because we were a part of the same family although at times we bugged each other but we always enjoyed each others presence.

After college, when we stepped into corporate world, we started loosing contacts, we forgot our best ma8s mobile numbers, and we changed our numbers, e-mail addresses. Do you think this is the way it should be? No I don't think so and many of you would positively comply with me.

When I left the college, It was a sad day for me, I lost many friends, No traces of my best ma8s. So I decided to come up with a common platform called ietBugs.com where all of us can still remain in touch. We can discuss our success stories, problems, situations, we can share our thoughts, dreams and most importantly we can find our lost ma8s.

Dear friends, don't be so self centered, I know you are not, So I request you all to visit the community at least once a week so that we still can maintain the trend, So that we can still be friends for life. This community has been dedicated to our fellow ship.

No body is controlling the community, no management is making any hard and fast rules. It's all in our hands, we can change, we can modulate thing the way we want. This is for all the IETians, please do not let developers work go in vain. Be a part of this.

Its yours, Own it.

So be regular on the community and leave a mark and tell us we are still best friends, no matter where we are, no matter what we do. We will still be united as IETians.

Alumni Meet 2008

The final location of alumni meet is Hotel Park Grand Sec 43 Chandigarh at 6.00 pm on 15th march 2008

It was on 1997 that the dream of Er. Gurcharan Singh of building a world class institution in Engineering came into being. The institution that holds a special place in our heart will turn eleven in 2008. The biggest tribute to our great institute would be to help it to realize its dream of becoming one of the top Engineering institutes in the world and it would be no exaggeration to state that the alumni community needs to play a very active role to achieve this.

Alumni Committee is planning to hold alumni meet on 15 March 2008 at Chandigarh. We have discussed this proposal with Principal Dr V.P Singh and he has assured full support from the institute in organizing this meet.

The alumni would also be given a chance to once again merrily ride in their Yankee yellow college buses to come and behold the magnificent college on the 16th of March 2008.
