Welcome to 2009 - Adieu to 2008

Dear All-

While we bid adieu to 2008 A year which may turn out to be a watershed year in many ways, a year which can be seen as a mixture of the best times and worst times, a year which had spring of hopes and winter of despair WE together as a regrouped and re-juvineiated IETians Family, welcome 2009.

At this juncture, it is just a co-incidence that I recall a simple writing of Sir Isaac Newton which goes like

While I can run, Ill run; While I can walk, Ill Walk; While I can Crawl, Ill Crawl By Grace of God I only keep moving forward"

So let's move forward and welcome year 2009 and hope that this year nothing unlawful and unpleasant happens again. We wish the year to bring a lot of happiness and success to everyone. No more tears no more pain.

A tribute to Aseem, Maninder and Anmol

We are in tears and in immense pain upon knowing the biggest unfortunate tragedy that happened with three of our Alumnus who lost their precious lives due to a cruel rip wave at Ratnagiri near Goa.

They were an asset, a real jewel to the institute. During their college days, they made us all proud by winning hearts of millions with amazing on-stage performances around the country. Nobody ever expected that these great people were short on time. Till now nobody is ready to believe that they are not with us anymore.

Aseem Gill, Maninder Singh and Anmol Dhand will always remain as idols in the hearts of all IETians. Please check the News 1 , News 2 , News 3 , News 4 , News 5

Being the admin of ietBugs, obligatorily I have to post this sad news but its only me who knows how difficult it is to type such a distressing story. Important :: Serious security flaw found in Internet Explorer 7.0

A serious security flaw is found in Internet Explorer 7.0 and Everybody is advised by experts not to use Internet Explorer for any confidential banking transactions until the new patch is released.

The new patch would be released at the earliest and Microsoft advices everybody to use the browser from their rivals until the patch is released.

The Biggest Innovative Video Challenge - IET Bhaddal

Dear All-

This challenge is looking for a marketing and Training video aimed at the efficient functionality of ietBugs.com and a virtual tour of the prestige Institute so called Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bhaddal.

Video should be uploaded to Youtube.com Channel
Challenge Deadline is 8th Dec 2008

The proposed video should promote, in a persuasive, innovative and fun way, the benefits of joining and being active on ietBugs.com, and should help beginners to rapidly familiarize with ietBugs community and begin sharing their knowledge and experience right away. It is very important that the video should encourage both membership and active engagement.

The video should be clever, inventive, and should stand-out from the clutter of competing messages. It also should be suitable for commercial use. At the same time, it can be informal and humorous and employ a variety of imaginative approaches.

The list of positive themes would likely include, but are not limited to, the following:

1) How to best get started with the community: register, browse, read, consume, etc.

2) How to post Jobs, work in the forums, use Chirkut, videos, or e-learning.

3) What you love about the community and how it benefits you personally and your institute

4) What you love/enjoy about IET, Bhaddal and ietBugs.com collaboration

5) Pictures, videos or other materials that you have created by being involved in the community.

6) The intellectual pleasure of working on important problems and helping others.

7) The pride and other feelings of being part of a global IET Bhaddal's only community.

8) The opportunity to help solve problems of others.

9) The learning, professional growth, career advancement, and related career benefits.

10) The satisfaction of reaping membership awards like the Belt system, Top Poster and contributing to the Blood Donation campaign, Food Program, receiving recognition (formal and informal,) etc.

11) The convenience of working your craft and being involved globally.

12) The use of ietBugs.com in your daily work to be more productive, learn, and develop.

Extensive screenshots of ietBugs.com and IET Bhaddal official website are strongly discouraged. In part, this is due to the constantly changing nature of the ietBugs community Design, which would rapidly make the videos outdated or even obsolete.

The proposed videos should meet the following technical specifications:

The length of the video should be between 3 to 5 minutes.

The videos should ideally use English language, although non-English content may be included.

The videos should be delivered as a digital video using .mpeg, .wmv, or .mov format.

The videos must only employ elements that their authors have either ownership of or can prove as being in the public domain.

Buggy Brains - Buggy Ideas

Hello IETians,

ietBugs community has taken an initiative to start a new thread where all the students or faculty members can share their new project ideas, solutions to business problems and come up with new innovative products. This is an opportunity to showcase your buggy brain and ideas with other community members.

Have you ever imagined a solution to a potential problem, or have you ever even thought of developing a new software which has never been developed before. We have students from almost all backgrounds, electrical, electronic, mechanical, IT then why not we integrate our ideas and develop something big. I personally think our students have that potential to do some thing big, they only need motivation.

So dear IETians, Are you Buggy enough to come up with Buggy Ideas which can be further shapes into read world solutions. If your answer is yes, let's make a difference now.

Submit your ideas/projects and ietBugs will show them to the world. The best part is, you can seek suggestions and improvements from greatest of great people all around here and make your idea practical and better to implement. IET Bhaddal has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Murdoch University,Perth,Australia,according to which students who have successfully completed two years of a 4-year B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering , Electronics &Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering will be eligible for pursuing 3rd year at Murdoch University after successful completion of the course.

The Institute has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wayne State University ,Detroit,Michigan,USA.
